Halloween: Thriller
The worst date ever.. I mean could you imagine being on a date with a hot guy you really like only to hear the dreaded sentence: "I have something to tell you" ? Obviously he's going to tell you that he slept with your best friend or likes to wear diapers sometimes. But nope instead he transforms into a blood thirsty werewolf who wants to hunt you down like raw meat.
But have no fear.. After he scares the shit out of you, he will bring you to a romantic after taste at a cemetery where you will find the real horror -- he's a zombie, but at least he's a really good dancer.

Halloween Days 22-25 : The Exorcist
Its the 40th anniversary.. This movie still scares me to this day. Every possession movie there is, takes their inspiration from The Exorcist (Paranormal Activity, Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Devil Inside, The Conjuring --just to name a few). Makes you wonder what would movies would use if they didn't create this movie. You know when it first came out people were fainting and puking at the theater?

Halloween Day #14-17: Horror Rock
Its like music that is a bit 70s, with guitars and sometimes organs, and you can immediately tell this is a scary song but isn't too scary? I first was introduced to horror like rock with old episodes of Scooby Doo. I love it! Gives me a nostalgic feel with a bit of creep factor.

Halloween Day 8,9,10: American Horror Story
See.. I'm already slacking on these posts. Who saw #AHS ? We all did.. And as usual it didn't disappoint. It was as vile, graphic, sexual and sometimes shockingly offensive.. Next season should be called "American Horror Story: Trigger Warning" . This is the season of the witch and I think I speak for everyone to say we miss witches. I mean other shows/movies have tried to give us what we wanted but none will be as good as the 1996's film: The Craft.
The best thing about this episode is that its in my hometown, New Orleans. New Orleans is a place where the living are easily lost, and the dead stick around to play. I miss my schoolgirl days where we learned about Catechism along with Voodoo and about the legendary Marie Laveau, thee Queen of Voodoo (she's also in the show). So lets hope that Satan's School for Girls gives us what we've been missing. Halloween Day 4,5,6 : Laurie Strode Kissing Michael Myers
Well a large storm is coming as we may not have electricity so this post will count for 3 days!
At the time of filming, John Carpenter's Halloween was a no budget independent movie (and one of the highest grossing independent horror film of all time until Paranormal Activity 1), so a lot of the characters, costumes, houses,etc came from people around the town where the filming took place. One of the guys who wore the Michael Myers' mask was Jamie Lee Curtis' boyfriend(and he was hot, press pause when she takes off his place you'll see)

Halloween Day 2: Byzantium
I know...I know everybody is sick of vampires but you haven't seen any movie like this! I saw Byzantium randomly this weekend and I was blown away. Gemma Arterton and Saoirse Ronan were terrific. This is the story of a mother and daughter vampire duo, who have been on the run from the secret society of vampires:"The Brotherhood". The mother named Clara with a profession older than her age of 200 years (can you guess it?) and her daughter Eleanor who wants to tell their secret but she never can. This movie is filled with love, horror, action and its own yet different mythology.

31 Days of Halloween: #1 Hellraiser
Halloween is my favorite holiday of all the holidays. "Its the one time a year a girl can dress like a total slut and no one can say anything about it" totally kidding! Thats not why! I love Halloween because its spooky,creepy and dark and doesn't that sound like fun!? The Lost Girls' collection isn't complete but I feel like its a all 3 of those things among the crown of flowers and pretty dresses. Everyday I will attempt to blog about something Halloween-ish, whether its films,books or just a photograph or artwork. So today I start on my birthday with, the movie Hellraiser. I would say this movie is a bit underrated. And after 15 years of avoiding it (because of no interest at all) it is really good! This is an actual BDSM horror movie, maybe one of the first or at least the most well known. It all starts with a magical puzzle box which unleashes your darkest pleasures. The story is so original and the dialogue is so funny yet so dark and clever.
