The name
Memento Mori received its name from a
poem
by J. Furniss Through the 17th century Memento Mori art became a very
popular genre. Although skulls are seen as grim in current western
culture, in other cultures skulls represent a sort of wisdom. Memento
Mori simply reminds you to remember your mortality; to remember the
years you have left, because life at best is short. A more positive way
to look at it is remembering there must be an end to the book. The
Memento Mori Collection will help you actually put thought into writing the story your life will tell before it does.
